Art of Birding

Your porch birds, painted through the day.

A living frame for tablet or TV. Local song becomes scheduled artwork — calm, private, and yours.

How it works

From porch song to living art.

You bring the Pi and mic. We ship the card that ties it to your account. Your home does the listening; we do the painting.

  1. 01

    Gather hardware

Raspberry Pi 4+ and a USB mic. We’ll point you to recommended kits when you’re ready.

  2. 02

    Subscribe & receive

$39/mo includes a microSD we flash and ship — already linked to your Art of Birding account.

  3. 03

    Listen at home

Insert the card, join home Wi‑Fi with a pairing code. Birds are identified on the Pi — audio stays there.

  4. 04

    Watch it paint

Open your private display. Four times a day, today’s visitors become a new canvas.

What you get

A calm ritual for your walls.

Powered by BirdNET on your Pi and Gemini in the cloud — built for homes that want beauty without a feed.

Four canvases a day

Art paints at times you choose — by default 9, 12, 3, and 6. Empty mornings skip a slot so you never burn a blank quota.

Gentle notifications

Species digests before each paint, plus an end-of-day report. You control what lands in your inbox.

Private by design

Audio never leaves your Pi. Only bird names and confidence scores reach the cloud — nothing else.

A living frame

Your private display on tablet or TV. Download keepers to your computer; cloud canvases fade after a week.

Gemini paints each canvas from the birds heard since the last slot, in art styles you enable in your account.

No. Your living frame sits on a private subdomain and requires a display key. You can still share stills when you choose.
